We started our day very early in the morning, and just driving to our camp was a real adventure. We were going log rafting on the rivers Drina and Tara.
Right where it merges with the Piva River (80 km from Sarajevo), the Tara has carved out a beautiful canyon, perfect for rafting and other extreme sports. The canyon of the Tara River, which is the border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, is 78 km long and is unique for its height, varying between 1000 and 1300 meters. This canyon is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites, and because of its wild nature, it’s uninhabited.
These two small rivers merge into the Drina River – one of the most beautiful rivers in the region.
We arrived at about 10 o’clock at the rafting center on the Drina and Tara, had breakfast and started our preparations for the most beautiful day in nature. The untouched nature, the extraordinary beauty of the Tara Canyon, and a great team made for a unique experience.
We reminded ourselves how things look without cars, messages or emails. We played volleyball, tried rafting, played poker, ate, drank and had fun.
Although we are not used to it, sleeping in the simple bungalows was especially interesting. Everything was the opposite of our everyday life, but it was a really great back-to-basics team building experience.
