It was only a matter of time before we would start discussing Bitcoin at Atlantbh. With an office full of engineers, there is bound to be a few success stories and even more interested in talking about what changes Bitcoin might bring in the future.
Atlantbh had a chance to listen to our Bitcoin Golden boy, fellow Atlanter Davor Kovačić, as he held a Brown Bag presentation on the topic last week. Davor has had experience with the crypto-currency and was more than happy to talk shop with fellow engineers.
We sat down with Davor for a post-presentation recap:
Why did you decide to talk about Bitcoin?
I have been interested in Bitcoin and the concept of cryptocurrencies for about 4 or 5 years now. I think that a lot of people, even those in tech circles, still have no idea what Bitcoin is or about the potentials of cryptocurrencies. That’s where I got the idea to share some of my knowledge on the concept.
What did you discuss during your Brown Bag presentation?
I talked about the history of Bitcoin and the technologies upon which Bitcoin is based. I also discussed some of the basic functions of Bitcoin, like transactions, mining, and Bitcoin (blockchain) consensus protocol.
What do you think Bitcoin means for the future?
I think that the concept of cryptocurrencies, in general, presents a paradigm shift comparable to that of the appearance and popularization of the internet some 20 years ago.
