Today, we awarded 10 scholarships to students studying in IT-related programs throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Atlantbh has always prioritized the education and employment of youth. Over the years, we have supported many initiatives, from student associations to educational events. We also continuously offer our ABH Internship which trains and educates students, providing them with practical experience by working on real projects. We have even employed more than 40 of their interns, along with hundreds of others. Our ABH Scholarships are just one more way we seek to invest in young people who are ready to learn and who will develop the IT sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This is our first generation of ABH Scholarship recipients, and scholarships were awarded in two categories: for students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in academic and non-academic activities, and for students coming from low-income households.
As one of the first software development companies in B&H, we are proud of the results we have achieved working with some of the largest companies in the world. Last year was especially successful, which is why we were more than ready to share this success with others in some shape or form.
Our CEO, Milad Čerkić, was eager to share his thoughts and congratulations, “we are very aware of the situation in B&H. Young people are leaving or want to leave while the software industry has huge potential on our market. We want to set an example for others, to build Bosnia and Herzegovina and keep our young people in the country. This is why we decided to award scholarships to students attending study programs closely related to the IT industry, to contribute to the further development of this area.”
“We received a large number of applications and we’re sorry that we can’t provide scholarships to all these remarkable students. However, we are very proud of our top 10 recipients, and we wish them a lot of success in the future. We hope that our ABH Scholarship will provide additional motivation for their future successes. Congratulations Adil, Adnan, Amira, Eldar, Haris, Nevena, Nihad, Muamer, Muhamed and Mehmed.”
Muhamed Karajić, a student at the Faculty of Information Technology in Mostar said, “This is the first time I ever heard of this type of scholarship from a private company. That fact alone was a great beginning to this story. The scholarship will help me finance my education. The knowledge I have attained, the support of my parents and now this help from Atlantbh are the wind behind my back. I see better prospects for this country and for us students, as well as for the citizens because of gestures like these by Atlantbh.”
One of our ABH Scholarship recipients is a student from the Electrotechnical faculty at the University of Banja Luka, Nevena Kisin, who said “I primarily applied for this scholarships because, besides university, I want to further improve myself. At the beginning of March I plan to participate in a camp held outside of my city, where I will get the chance to learn about renewable energy sources and some new ways of producing it. This scholarships enables me to participate, because it provides me with the resources to pay for it. Also, this additional source of financing will help me focus on my studies without having to worry about where I will earn pocket money.”
“The scholarship will help me buy myself a laptop with much better specifications, which is necessary for the study program and profession I have chosen. My short-term goals are to complete my studies and get a job which takes its work seriously by providing me with the chance to continuously research and improve. I would most love to work on the production of electronic elements.” says Adil Batalević, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Tuzla.
Nihad Hrustić, a student of the Faculty of Information Technology in Mostar told us about his motivations behind applying and how he will use his ABH Scholarship, He says, “I applied for the scholarship because it not only provides me with additional financial resources, but also motives me to continue down the path I’ve chosen. If you are given a chance in life, take advantage of it and justify the responsibility you have been given by proving yourself worthy. I have a lot of ambitions for the future, I generally see myself as a programmer and I really like the idea of creating something that the end user will actually use, whereas all the ‘magic’ behind their experience is simply code and design.”
We hope that the ABH Scholarships we provided to young people will motivate other companies to support students and help them continue their education and development in the IT field.
